What it is
Support with personal tasks you can no longer safely manage alone because of your accepted conditions, bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility around the home, and medication management.
Who's eligible
You have an accepted condition, physical or mental health, that limits your ability to safely manage personal care tasks.
How to get it

Attendant care has its own form: the Attendant Care Services Claim Form (D1351). You complete Part 1, and your treating doctor completes Part 2.

Lodge it with DVA. DVA may arrange an occupational therapist assessment (including an OT with mental-health experience where relevant) before deciding.

DVA issues a determination and arranges an approved provider at no cost to you. A family member can sometimes be paid to provide attendant care, this is assessed case by case. DVA line: 1800 555 254.
