Household ServicesHouse cleaning
What it is
Regular help with cleaning tasks you can no longer manage safely or comfortably because of your accepted conditions, vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, and general tidying.
Who's eligible
You have at least one accepted DVA condition that limits your ability to clean your home.
You do not need a Gold Card or high impairment points to qualify. Moderate impairment is often enough.
How to get it
- 1
Ask your GP or treating specialist to note how your accepted conditions affect your ability to do housework.
- 2
DVA (or your delegate) arranges an assessment, sometimes a phone assessment, sometimes an occupational therapist home visit.
- 3
Once approved, DVA arranges a contracted cleaning provider. There is no cost to you.
