RAP fundedCPAP machine
What it is
A CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine treats accepted sleep apnoea by keeping your airway open overnight, so you sleep properly and reduce the daytime fatigue and health risks that come with untreated apnoea.
It is funded through the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP) at no cost to you, and RAP also covers the ongoing consumables, masks, tubing and filters, so you are not paying to keep it running.
Who's eligible
You have an accepted DVA sleep apnoea condition and a sleep study confirming the clinical need for CPAP.
RAP is assessed on your accepted conditions and clinical need, not on your impairment points.
White Card holders can access RAP for their accepted conditions. Gold Card holders can access it for any clinical need.
How to get it

Your GP or sleep specialist arranges a sleep study if you have not had one, to confirm the diagnosis and pressure settings.

They lodge the request through RAP using the Positive Airway Pressure application with the sleep study results.

Once approved, a DVA-contracted supplier provides the machine and sets it up at no cost to you.
