RAP fundedBidet seat
What it is
A bidet toilet seat that washes and, on some models, dries, so you can manage toileting hygiene independently. It is prescribed where an accepted condition affects mobility, dexterity, reach or grip.
It is funded through the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP) at no cost to you. DVA publishes specific National Guidelines for bidet seats, and a contracted supplier installs the unit, which may include a backflow prevention (RPZ) valve where plumbing rules require it.
Who's eligible
You have at least one accepted DVA condition limiting mobility, grip or reach, and an occupational therapist or GP assessment supports clinical need under the RAP National Guidelines.
RAP is assessed on your accepted conditions and clinical need, not on your impairment points.
White Card holders can access RAP for their accepted conditions. Gold Card holders can access it for any clinical need.
How to get it

Ask your GP or occupational therapist for an assessment against the RAP bidet seat guidelines.

They lodge the request through RAP with their clinical justification.

Once approved, a DVA-contracted supplier installs the seat, and any required backflow valve, at no cost to you.
