DVA Claims Help for Veterans in Nowra

Nowra is home to HMAS Albatross, the Royal Australian Navy’s primary aviation base and the centre of naval aviation in Australia. The Shoalhaven region has a significant veteran population, many of whom served at Albatross or the nearby Nowra Hill facilities. If you need help with a DVA compensation claim, CSC invalidity application, or appeal, Clear Path Veterans can help.

Serving veterans across the Shoalhaven

Nowra’s naval aviation history goes back to the 1940s. The base has operated fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters across multiple generations. Many personnel who served at Albatross settled in the Shoalhaven after discharge. We work with veterans across Nowra, Shoalhaven, Wollongong, and the South Coast who served at:

  • HMAS Albatross

The RAN’s Fleet Air Arm base. Home to 808 Squadron (MRH-90 Taipan, now transitioning to Black Hawk), 816 Squadron (MH-60R Seahawk), 723 Squadron (training), and the Aviation Support Group. Personnel at Albatross are exposed to sustained aircraft noise (rotary and fixed-wing), aviation fuel and chemicals, and the physical demands of flight deck and maintenance operations. Hearing loss and tinnitus claims are particularly common among naval aviation personnel.

  • Nowra Hill

Communications and intelligence facilities. Personnel posted here served in roles with specific occupational exposures.

  • HMAS Creswell (Jervis Bay)

The RAN’s officer training establishment at Jervis Bay, south of Nowra. Officer cadets undergo intensive physical training with associated musculoskeletal injury risk.

If you served at any of these locations, or anywhere else in NSW, and you have conditions related to your service, we can help you claim.
