What it is
A mobility scooter for veterans whose accepted conditions significantly limit walking distance or endurance. Assessment usually considers whether a scooter is the right level of support compared to other mobility aids.
Who's eligible
You have an accepted condition significantly limiting mobility, and an occupational therapist assessment confirms a scooter (rather than a cane, walker or manual wheelchair) is appropriate.
How to get it

Request an OT mobility assessment through your GP or case manager, this is a more involved assessment than most RAP items.

The OT submits the RAP request with their clinical justification. A contracted supplier provides the scooter once approved.
